Janasena leader Nadendla Manohar and other leaders were arrested by Visakhapatnam police on December 11, 2023. They were arrested for staging a protest against the closure of Taikoon Junction in Visakhapatnam.
In response to the arrest, Nagababu criticized the government and police for their actions. He asked, “Is it wrong to express dissent in a democracy? Is it wrong to stand up for the people? Is it wrong to raise the voice of the people to solve problems? We did not attack or burn anything. Is it wrong to fight within the framework of the rights given to us by the Constitution?” through his tweet.
Nagababu also said that the arrest of Janasena’s political affairs committee chairman was undemocratic. He said that the party leaders and women were prepared to stage a peaceful protest under Manohar’s leadership.
