Kalyan ram used 90 different costumes for his upcoming movie Devil

The film’s costume designer, Rajesh, has revealed that Indian culture is the core theme for Kalyan ram’s character’s wardrobe.

“When director Abhishek Nama narrated the script, I wanted the costumes to complement Kalyan ram’s look and his character,” explained Rajesh. “Since the hero is an Indian who works as a British Agent, we decided to have india’s culture as the base theme for his wardrobe. That’s why we designed a Dhoti and a waistcoat to bring completeness to the outfits.”

Rajesh shared some fascinating details about the costumes:

  • 90 costume changes: Kalyan ram will sport a staggering 90 different outfits throughout the film.
  • Mohair wool blazers: 60 blazers made from luxurious Mohair wool fabric imported from Italy will adorn Kalyan ram.
  • Dhoti and kurta under the blazer: Each outfit boasts a Kurta and Dhoti made from Indian cotton, tucked neatly under the Italian blazer.
  • 11.5 meters of fabric per outfit: Each costume requires a whopping 11.5 meters of fabric, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail.
  • 25 waistcoats: Adding to the sartorial elegance, 25 bespoke waistcoats further elevate Kalyan ram’s style.
  • Heritage watch: A unique hanging watch sourced from a heritage watch collector in Delhi complements the blazer near the pocket.

‘Devil’ marks Rajesh’s 60th film and his sixth collaboration with Kalyan ram. The duo previously worked together on films like MLA, 118, and Entha Manchivadivira. Rajesh is currently busy with three upcoming projects, highlighting his prolific career in costume design.

With his meticulous attention to detail and focus on patriotic themes, Rajesh promises to deliver a visually stunning and culturally resonant experience for the audience through Kalyan ram’s costumes in ‘Devil.’
